I walked a mile with Pleasure;
She chatted all the way;
But left me none the wiser
For all she had to say.I walked a mile with Sorrow,
And ne’er a word said she;
But, oh! The things I learned from her,
When sorrow walked with me.-Robert Browning Hamilton
I served as pastor of Southern Baptist churches in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana for 30 years before taking an early medical retirement in February 2013. In this blog I share daily devotions from my own personal Bible readings, as well as sermons, book reviews, illustrations -- and occasional "peeks" at life inisde a pastor's home through my "Paradise" articles. I was diagnosed with dysautonomia or POTS in June of 2012, and write posts on my ongoing experience with that illness as well.

you should do a parody off this based off of your POTS diagnosis
Or maybe I should do one like this:
“I walked a mile with Libby,
She chatted all the way …”
Are one of the symptoms of POTS irritability? Because I thought Mom was the vinegar
Ah, so that’s where Barry McGuire got those lyrics. There’s a song “I Walked A Mile” on the Barry McGuire/Second Chapter of Acts live album “To The Bride” (from 1975 – I guess that dates me), and that poem makes up the chorus of the song.
Interesting; I don’t know that particular Barry McGuire song. But I guess I am dated too, Orolyn — because I played McGuire & Second Chapter songs as a radio announcer back in the 80′s!
