Much More Than a Thousand Words

“A picture is worth a thousand words”, so I am going to save multiplied thousands of words, and let the pictures do most of the “talking” on this post.  One of FBC Moss Bluff’s VBS workers, Jolynne Dennis, gave Cheryl a whole sack full of “get well” cards that our Bible School kids made for me this week.  This has not been the most exciting week for me ever, seemingly just “spinning my wheels” while waiting to go to Houston to see a specialist, so I can’t tell you how cheering these cards were. Many of them brought a smile to my face, and some literally made me laugh out loud. I thought you might enjoy seeing some of them.

Many of the cards included sweet expressions of love, prayers for me to get well, and were adorned by the cute, kids-y kind of art you’d expect to find from Bible School kids, like this one:

Some were “shrouded in mystery”! 😉

Others came with creative borders, or with unique shapes and sizes:

Some were very optimistc for miraculous healing. This next one had a faith that could just envision me sitting up, healed!

Many of the kids put their age on their cards:

Ahem … yes, kids of all ages! 😉

Most of the cards were very encouraging:

Well, some more than others  😉

OK, now these are more like it!  🙂

Next was a most special card, coming with a verse that was on her heart.  Many of our church members are aware that Anna Grace Dennis knows a thing or two about persevering through medical difficulties!  What an encouragement!

This virtual hug was almost as good to me as a real one — and I need bunches!

Ok, I can see we are going to have to have a church-wide drill on how to spell the pastor’s name correctly! 😉

A LOT of the cards got a smile or a laugh from me (much needed this week!) but I have to say, the expression on the next card probably resulted in my biggest laugh:

Ah yes, I am STILL chuckling at that one! On the strength of these prayers and well-wishes, as well as those of many others, I am now more certain than ever that I will make it to Houston — and beyond! Thank you SO much, each and every one!
