You Are Not Forgotten

In Psalm 9:18 David reminds us: “For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever.” This is a good reminder, because there are times when you DO feel like you will always be forgotten; especially when you are in the middle of a difficult trial, and you are asking God to do something — and it seems like nothing is happening!

In those times it can seem to us like the help will never arrive; that the trial is interminable, and God is not doing anything about it. But it will not go on forever. God will help. He says here, “The needy will not always be forgotten” — in fact, the truth is that you are not forgotten now; it only seems like it to you because of the distress of your situation. In reality, He has never forgotten you for a moment! That God gave this verse is a good reminder of the fact that you are not forgotten. His help is on the way!
