When Words and Deeds Contradict

Titus 1:16 should be inscribed across the landscape of religious America: “They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him.” SO many people in our country profess to know God – yet so few demonstrate the reality of it by the way they live.

We need to remember Jesus’ ominous words in Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.” Merely professing to know God does not save you, if your deeds contradict your profession. It is incumbent upon each of us to look to ourselves first: do the words of my profession and the deeds of my life contradict?
