Ok, inspired by Joe McKeever and “Mrs. Gore’s Diary”, as well as prodding by my son David, I am starting a blog — with my very own domain: shawnethomas.com! I thought it might be good timing with the India mission trip coming up Tuesday; hopefully I will be able to send more full reports home with a blog than I could have on Facebook — and I will link it there too. Admittedly, I have NO idea what I am doing … but this Sunday night one of my sermon points is that there are times to “throw one’s self in” (John 21:7), so … I am going to jump, kicking and screaming into the 21st century … right … NOW!
I'm a retired Southern Baptist pastor of almost 40 years. My wife Cheryl & I moved to Norman, OK in March of 2025. I share a weekly overview for Sunday School teachers of the weekly Lifeway "Explore the Bible" lesson, as well as texts of my sermons and other articles.

ok…I am not sure if I am leaving josh a comment or br. shawn; but for what it’s worth I’m impressed; i haven’t figured out how to download sermons on to my ipod shuffle from sunday church!
Josh: Lord willing, I will be able both time- and technology-wise to keep the blog up in India, but I am going to give it a shot!

altho it taxed every bit of my 19th century tech knowledge, I managed to access this site. My question is, “How did you manage to get out of Houston this afternoon?” We’re isolated by record 14 inches of snow here in Tulsa. OKC has -14 temps. I very much enjoyed your “Jumping In” message Sunday evening and your “I’m preaching on hearts” message Sunday morning. I am grateful for a pastor who leads by example in everything he preaches. Truly I have seen in you a man who seeks the law of the Lord and does it and then teaches others to do the same. May the Lord bless you as you seek to honor His name near and far.
