Psalm 90:14 contains a most important prayer for blessing: “O satisfy us in the morning with Your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” NOTICE:

— “SATISFY us”: there is satisfaction to be found in the Lord.

— “with Your steadfast love”: It is God’s love that will satisfy us; nothing less. People look for satisfaction in numerous other places, but they are only disappointed, for it is only God’s love which will ultimately satisfy.

— “in the morning”: we need to seek Him and His satisfaction early in the morning; first thing. It is what we need the most; therefore we should give it the greatest priority, and seek it first.

— HOW do you get satisfied with His love in the morning? Through worshipping Him; singing, meditating on His great love for you. Love Him, and receive His love for you, in a personal relationship. Too many people miss this in a fog of “religion” and rituals instead.

— the RESULT: “that we may rejoice and be glad all our days”. Becoming satisfied with God each morning will lead us to daily joy –But we will only experience that joy to the extent that we seek to be satisfied in Him every morning.

— Notice too, in :14, that if we are satisfied in the Lord in the morning, then we WILL sing for joy and be glad ALL our days. Even on those inevitable “bad” or difficult days, we can still sing for joy – when we have met Him and His lovingkindness in the morning!

Being satisfied with God’s lovingkindness in the morning is what each of us really needs, more than anything else. We should never tire of praying this for ourselves and for those we love!
