We Exist For Him

Four little words found in Corinthians 8:6 would prove revolutionary if we would really understand and apply them. The words? “We exist for Him.”

Really learning and applying that statement would change a lot of lives. We do not exist for ourselves, but for GOD. Our lives are not our own, but HIS!

— The “it’s my life, I can do with it what I want to” philosophy vanishes in light of this.

— The “it’s my body” abortion arguments disappear as well.

–The “I want my church/my music/my way” attitude doesn’t stand before this philosophy either.

— And “it’s my day off” or “I don’t want to do that on my weekend” goes in light of it too.

These words remind us that we don”t exist to serve ourselves. We don’t exist to please ourselves, We don’t exist to glorify ourselves, but God.  He is not there to help us fulfill our dreams — the “success gospel” goes out the window here too.  We are not here to fulfill our plans, but to glorify Him by fulfilling HIS!

IF YOU WANT A BRIEF MEMORY VERSE THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE: Memorize this one.  Meditate on how it applies in specific, daily situations in your life. It will take you a long way towards what God created you to be:  “We exist for Him.”
