With three of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church’s adult members on mission in three different nations the next couple of weeks, our members need to realize the important responsibility we have to support our colleagues in prayer. In the biography, Hudson Taylor’s Spiritual Secret, Taylor is quoted as saying of his mission workers in China:
“I have been feeling these last months that of all our work the most important is that unseen, upon the mount of intercession. Our faith must gain the victory for the fellow-workers God has given us. They fight the seen and we must fight the unseen battle.”
Church members, let us remember:
— Alex Brittain in Wales
— Kerri Phipps in Romania
— Louise Hardee in Haiti
And let us be faithful to “fight the unseen battle” for them in prayer.
“God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you.” (I Samuel 12:23, KJV)
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness; against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places … be on the alert with alll perseverance and petition for all the saints.” (Ephesians 6:12, 18)
