“And all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.” (John 17:10)
Jesus could say to His Heavenly Father that everything He had was the Father’s, and likewise, everything that was the Father’s, was His. This is a prayer we should each aspire to realize, for there is an amazing fellowship of riches available to us if we will:
If we can say to God like Jesus did here that “all things that are mine are Yours” — which does involve the surrender of everything we have to Him — yet if we can, then we will also be able to say that all things that are “Yours are mine”; and the riches of the God of Glory will be ours; a privilege and a treasure beyond our comprehension!
Unfortunately, too many of us are like foolish children, keeping God at arm’s length, and shouting “Mine!”; unwilling to surrender the little earthly trinkets in our hand to our Heavenly Father, in order that we might receive from Him an inheritance, the riches of which we cannot begin to imagine. Yet all that He has CAN be ours — the “deal of an eternity”! — IF we will learn to say to Him, like Jesus did, that “all things that are mine, are Yours.”
