Your Stewardship of God’s Grace

“If indeed you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace which was given to me for you.” (Ephesians 3:2)

These two little phrases are important regarding Paul’s ministry, and our own: “TO ME”/“FOR YOU.” God gave His grace “to” Paul; but God did not give the message of this grace to him just for himself alone; it was so that he could minister it “to” them! Paul was saved and given God’s grace in an amazing and unusual way — the appearance of Christ on the Damascus Road. It was indeed miraculous, and he should be thankful for this grace. But God didn’t do all that merely for Paul; it was SO THAT he could be a steward of that message of grace, and share it with others. It was given TO HIM/FOR others.

What is true of God’s grace to Paul here is also true for ALL of God’s people. We should be grateful for the grace of God which has come to us in Christ. But like Paul we should recognize that this message of grace didn’t just come for us; but in order that we might SHARE it with others as stewards.

What kind of steward of God’s grace are you? Are you keeping to yourself, or like Paul are you making it known, and sharing it with others?
